Hi there! I’m Simon, a software developer in the Boston area. I started this Substack because I’d like to write more. I think writing can be a useful tool for clarifying and stress-testing all of the thoughts that are bouncing around in my head, and persisting them somewhere so I can look back on them later.

My interests include computer science (especially artificial intelligence, distributed systems, software engineering, formal methods, and pedagogy), hiking (especially in New England and on long-distance trails), philosophy (especially ethics and philosophy of mind), and local affairs in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
